1. Peter’s Revelation — Heaven Revealed on Earth

Matthew 16:16–18 (KJV)

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Peter stood on earth yet received revelation directly from the Father in heaven.

2. Jesus Does What He Sees the Father Do

John 5:19–20 (KJV)

19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise

20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

Jesus was God in man/Divinity in humanity and lived in continual awareness of the Father’s activity and mirrored it on earth.

3. The Father and Son Are One — Heaven Expressed on Earth

John 10:30 (KJV)

I and my Father are one.

John 14:9–10 (KJV)

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Heaven’s reality was manifested on earth in Jesus’ words and works. Jesus was God in man, the Incarnate God.

4. The Kingdom of Heaven Is Present and At Hand

Matthew 4:17 (KJV)

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Luke 17:20–21 (KJV)

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you

Jesus taught that Heaven is not a far-off realm but present wherever God’s rule is revealed. Just as it was from the beginning in Genesis, God’s presence on earth.

In essence, Jesus was pointing to himself as the Kingdom of God, but the Pharisees were blinded because of “their free will hardness of heart.” Read Isaiah 64:4 and 1 Corinthians 2: 9

Isaiah 64:4 – For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

1 Corinthians 2:9 – But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

5. Revelation Knowledge Comes from Heaven

1 Corinthians 2:9–10, 12 (KJV)

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Believers on earth by their free will receive divine truth by the Spirit sent from heaven.

John 3:12–13, 31–32 (KJV)

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven

31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

John 6:38 (KJV)

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Jesus explained that He embodied the Father’s will from heaven while living on earth.

As a reminder, Jesus just like Moses used figures of speech because earthly things are visible to assist in understanding invisible things of the Spirit.

6. Believers Already Participate in Heavenly Reality

Ephesians 2:5–6 (KJV)

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Colossians 3:1–2 (KJV)

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Even now, believers share in heaven’s reality through union with Christ.

Summary Truth

Jesus revealed that heaven is not a distant location, but the Father’s presence and will be revealed to humanity.

  • Peter’s confession in Matthew 16 shows that the Father in heaven speaks directly to those on earth.
  • Jesus lived as the model—doing only what He saw the Father do (John 5).
  • He taught that the Kingdom of Heaven had drawn near (Matthew 4:17) and that heaven’s reality is within meaning amongst (Luke 17:21).

Through Christ and the Holy Spirit, heaven’s life is experienced now on earth by all who believe.
