Understanding The Spirit of Man he teaching of apostle John

The Teaching Of Apostle John – Trained By The Master Teacher

Understanding the Blueprint of the Spirit Before the Foundation of the World

Minister Christopher Robert Holder – Teaching Module

I. Introduction: Why Apostle John Begins Differently

Matthew begins with genealogy.

Mark begins with the ministry action of Jesus.

Luke begins with eyewitnesses.

But John begins before time existed.

Why?

Because John reveals what existed before the earth, before matter, before human flesh, before Adam, before angels, before creation.

John received teaching directly from the Master Teacher, who revealed the mystery:

  • What existed before the beginning.
  • What existed before material creation.
  • What existed before Adam.
  • What existed before sin.
  • What existed before time, space, and matter.

The answer: God the Word, and the eternal Spirit-nature that God placed in man.

This is why John opens the Gospel with the pattern, or blueprint, for understanding Genesis.

II. The Foundation Scripture – John 1:1–5, 14 (Kjv)

John 1:1–5 (KJV)

  1. 1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
  2. 2. The same was in the beginning with God.
  3. 3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
  4. 4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
  5. 5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:14 (KJV)

  1. 14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

III. Why John Begins Here — The Answer

John begins with the blueprint of creation, because he explains Genesis 1.

  1. “In the beginning was the Word” reveals what existed before Genesis 1:1.

Before the beginning of the material universe,

before light, before matter, before mankind—

    The Word existed.

  2. The Word was God.
John is identifying the divine nature that later became flesh in Jesus.

  3. The Word created all things.
    This includes:

    • The heavens
    • The earth
    • Adam
    • Angels
    • Time
    • Matter
    • Energy
    • Life itself
  4. In Him was life — this is the Spirit-nature placed in man.
  5. That life was the light of men — the inner light, the Spirit of man.

John is explaining

IV. The Eternal Spirit Of Man: Before The Foundation Of The World

John’s teaching reveals that:

  • The Word existed before time.
  • The Word is the source of all Spirit-life.
  • The Spirit in man originates from God, not the flesh.
  • The Spirit of man is not born, cannot die, and does not start with Adam.

Thus the Spirit of man preceded the material world, because Spirit is of God and God is eternal.

This is why Scripture says:

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (KJV)

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

The Spirit in man came from God, not from the earth.

V. Connection To Genesis 1 — The Blueprint

John 1 is the spiritual explanation of Genesis 1.

1. Genesis 1:1–3 (KJV)

  1. 1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
  2. 2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
  3. 3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

John explains HOW this happened:

  • The Word is the One who spoke.
  • The Word is the One who created.
  • The Word is the One who is light.

Thus “God said” in Genesis is identified in John as The Word, who later became flesh.

VI. GENESIS 1:26–27 EXPLAINED BY JOHN

Genesis 1:26–27 (KJV)

26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…

27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female
created he them.

John explains the mystery:

  1. “Let us make man” refers to the Word who was with God and was God.

Before any physical body existed, the Spirit of man existed in the blueprint (the Word).

  2. Image and likeness begin with Spirit, not flesh.

    Image = nature, character, essence

    Likeness = function, purpose, expression

Man is not first a body.

    Man is first a Spirit-being.

  3. John 1:14 is the fulfillment of Genesis 1:26–27.

The Word becoming flesh is the demonstration that:

    • Spirit can inhabit material form
    • Spirit precedes body
    • Spirit gives life to body
    • Spirit defines identity

Thus Genesis 1:26–27 was not completed until the Word took on flesh.

Adam was the beginning of the prophecy.

Jesus was the fulfillment.

VII. Apostle Paul Confirms John’s Revelation

Colossians 1:15–17 (KJV)

  1. 15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
  2. 16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth…
  3. 17. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Paul confirms:

  • Christ (the Word) is the image Moses spoke of.
  • He existed before all things.
  • He created all things.
  • He is the source of life in man.
  • He is the pattern for new creation.

Thus:

Genesis 1:26–27 = Prophecy

John 1:14 = Fulfillment

Colossians 1:15–17 = Revelation

VIII. The Meaning of “Word” (Logos)

“Logos” means:

  • Purpose
  • Mind
  • Intent
  • Blueprint
  • Divine logic
  • Reason
  • Pattern
  • Expression of God

Thus, the Logos became flesh means:

  • God’s own mind entered the body of Jesus
  • God’s own intent operated through His soul
  • God’s own Spirit animated His humanity
  • The composite man (Spirit, soul, body) was aligned with God perfectly

Jesus is:

  • God’s thought
  • God’s purpose
  • God’s design
  • God’s blueprint manifested in human form

And THIS is the meaning of “the image of God.”

IX. The True Doctrine of Man – Spirit, Soul, Body

Apostle John reveals that man is:

  • Spirit — eternal, from God, pre-existing matter
  • Soul — mind, will, emotions (the seat of consciousness)
  • Body — temporary material house formed from dust

Paul agrees:

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)
“…your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless…”

Jesus demonstrated perfect alignment of:

  • Spirit aligned with God
  • Soul aligned with Spirit
  • Body obedient to divine purpose

This is the pattern of the new creation.

X. Why This Teaching Is Essential– The Spiritual Law

– The Spiritual Law

  • You cannot understand Genesis without John.
  • You cannot understand man without understanding Spirit first.
  • You cannot understand Jesus without understanding the pre-existent Word.
  • You cannot understand salvation without understanding the new creation.
  • You cannot understand the Kingdom without understanding the inner man.

XI. Summary of the Teaching

  • John begins before Genesis because creation begins in Spirit, not matter.
  • The Word is eternal, divine, the Creator, the Light, and the Life.
  • The Spirit of man existed in God’s blueprint before the earth.
  • Genesis 1:26–27 is a prophecy revealed in the incarnation of the Word.
  • The Logos shows God’s intent, purpose, and mind manifested in flesh.
  • Jesus demonstrates perfect Spirit-Soul-Body alignment.
  • Man is a Spirit-being placed in a material body for divine purpose.
  • Understanding John is the key to understanding all Scripture.
